Johnny Gerges is the Coordinator of the State-led Implementation Network on the Safe Schools Declaration. He supports states and their partners in domesticating and implementing the commitments of the Safe Schools Declaration. He provides technical support to translate these commitments into policies, doctrine, programmes and activities.

His practice brings together child protection, education in emergencies, mental health and psychosocial support, and thoughtful uses of technology. He is the author of several guides on Mental Health and Psychosocial Support, and Child Protection in Emergencies. Previously, he worked in humanitarian emergencies in more than 14 contexts. He fluently communicates in five languages, which allows him to effectively support partners globally.
